Rev. Bill Campbell shares thoughts on his experiences at Ground Zero .

 
  Veteran Police Chaplain, Bill Campbell spent several days working with survivors. family members, and workers removing the debris shortly after Sept. 11, 2001.  The International Conference of Police Chaplains assigned at least eight Chaplains, at the request of the PAPD, for several months to work at Ground Zero and other NY City points.

Fourteen huge cranes were in operation 24/7 to remove the tons of debris.  Griffin Demolition Company of Greensboro, NC was charged and challenged with the removal.

In addition to the WTC Towers, fourteen other buildings covering 16 acres were damaged or destroyed.

The debris is removed, put on trucks, and transported to a landfill on Staten Island where it is weighted and catalogued.
